Das Universitätsklinikum Düsseldorf (UKD) sucht eine Persönlichkeit mit ausgewiesener Forschungserfahrung im Bereich Umwelt und Gesundheit für die W3-Professur und Leitung des Instituts für Arbeits-, Sozial- und Umweltmedizin. Das Institut beschäftigt sich schwerpunktmäßig mit Fragen der Risikofaktorenforschung, Prävention und Interventionen in den Bereichen Arbeit, Umwelt und Gesundheit. // Professorship (W3) in Occupational, Social, and Environmental Medicine. Aufgaben

Der/die Bewerber:in soll ein hohes Engagement in der studentischen Lehre im Modellstudiengang Humanmedizin und im Public Health-Studiengang zeigen und Erfahrungen im Management von wissenschaftlichen Organisationseinheiten sowie in der Personalführung vorweisen. Auch soll der/die Bewerberin seine/ihre Anschlussfähigkeit zum Centre for Health and Society (chs) und zu den untenstehenden Forschungsverbünden der Medizinischen Fakultät, insbesondere zur internationalen bevölkerungsbezogenen Forschung und Translation im Bereich Arbeit, Umwelt, Klima und Gesundheit, überzeugend darlegen können.

Der/die Bewerber:in sollte außerdem Erfahrungen in der Förderung des wissenschaftlichen
Nachwuchses, der Gleichstellung sowie in der Betreuung von Qualifikationsarbeiten vorweisen.

Im Rahmen der Professur sind keine Aufgaben in der Krankenversorgung vorgesehen.

Eine Zusammenarbeit mit den Forschungsverbünden der Medizinischen Fakultät und der Universität (Sonderforschungsbereich Transregio 259 „Aortenerkrankungen“, Manchot-Graduiertenschule „Moleküle der Infektion“, Düsseldorf School of Oncology (DSO), Graduiertenschule „iBrain – Interdisciplinary Graduate School for Brain Research and Translational Neuroscience“, Future for Clinician Scientists in Precision Metabolic Medicine – FUTURE-4-CSPMM, Centrum für Integrierte Onkologie (CIO-ABCD) sowie eine Beteiligung an kooperativen Projekten mit dem Leibniz-Institut für umweltmedizinische Forschung (IUF),
dem Deutschen Diabetes-Zentrum Düsseldorf (DDZ) Leibniz-Zentrum für Diabetes-Forschung an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf, dem Deutschen Konsortium für translationale Krebsforschung (DKTK)) und dem Forschungszentrum Jülich wird erwartet.

The applicant should demonstrate a high level of commitment to teaching students in the model degree program in human medicine and in the public health degree program, and should have experience in managing scientific organizational units and in personnel management. The
applicant should also be able to convincingly demonstrate their ability to connect with the Centre for Health and Society (chs) and the research networks of the Faculty of Medicine listed below, in particular with regard to international population-based research and translation in
the fields of work, environment, climate, and health.

The applicant should also have experience in promoting young scientists, equality, and supervising theses.

The professorship does not involve any tasks related to patient care.

The appointee is expected to foster international research at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf and contribute to its cooperative research projects (Collaborative Research Center Transregio 259 “Aortic Disease”; Manchot Graduate School “Molecules of infection”; Düsseldorf School of Oncology (DSO); Research Training Group „iBrain – Interdisciplinary Graduate School for Brain Research and Translational Neuroscience“; Future for Clinician Scientists in Precision Metabolic Medicine – FUTURE-4-CSPMM; Center for Integrated Oncology (CIO-ABCD); Participation in cooperative projects with the Leibniz Institute for Environmental Medicine Research (IUF), the German Diabetes Center Düsseldorf (DDZ) Leibniz Center for Diabetes Research at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, the German Consortium for Translational Cancer Research (DKTK), and the Jülich Research Center is also expected.
